“To be set apart for the Master’s use” is the cry of Jo’s heart. Growing up on a farm in a small northwest Florida town, Jo is a former attorney and home economist. She graduated from Florida State University with bachelor and master of science degrees in home economics. She worked as a home economist for the University of Florida for ten years before pursuing a juris doctor degree at the University of Alabama School of Law. Jo was involved in civil litigation in a private practice of law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, until the Holy Spirit burdened her that she must “be about the Father’s business.” She longs to one day cry out to the Father, “I have glorified You on earth. I have finished the work which You have given me to do” (John 17:4). Jo and her husband, Keith, live in Montgomery, Alabama.

In my first discipleship class, I grew in my personal relationship with God, I knew that God was calling me to serve Him by teaching others. I volunteered to teach an Adult Sunday School class, even though I did not think that I was worthy or capable. I just trusted God, and as a result, my confidence and my love for teaching grew.
I now volunteer by helping to disciple others by assisting with the Becoming His Vessel: The Pathway to Living a Life with Meaning in-person group at The Vessel Room. I love continuing to learn while teaching others at the same time. I love getting to know those whom I teach and encouraging them to grow in their relationship with God. I want the spiritual eyes of the people I teach to be opened and for them to grow deeper in their relationship with God. God continues to grow me spiritually as I serve through His Vessel Ministries!
