- We need to live the truth so that people will see what truth looks like. (And living God's Word can be pretty radical!) We have to be intentional.
Consider finding someone who will walk with you.
Why do I challenge you to have this someone?
1) We all need godly relationships -- to keep us moving forward righteously.
2) We need to be accountable to someone -- to encourage us, to pray with one another.
This includes sharing your heart and your innermost thoughts. This someone won't judge you, won't laugh at you, will guard their responses, hear you, counsel you with the Word, give room for the Holy Spirit to guide your heart, and just listen to you.
Caution: When your someone shares with you, guard your response (even your facial expressions). * Be prayed up when you know you're coming together. You want to be prepared for what is going to happen in the moment. We, not cautious of leaning into someone's heart, could inhibit, make a difference in their life.
3) We need carved-out moments of time in healthy relationships.
This someone is willing to speak truth in love. ** Keep this relationship prayed over so that you'll be prepared.
This someone should be a person you can be real with, not a facade. You can open up your heart with one another -- pull down the mask. You're free to see yourself as you really are so that God can use this someone to put truth on the matter -- someone dedicated to spiritual growth and personal growth.
This relationship is to help one another -- bring one another along; we walk together because no one has made it. We give grace to each other.
4) We challenge each other to be righteous (not right).
God desires for us to pursue righteousness.
You have to be in the Word learning what righteousness is, to seek it and challenge one another to chase after it to bring Him glory.
Pray: Father God, would You bring someone into my life to walk with -- to be my walking partner on this journey of faith? Is there someone I need to ask to be my partner?
Let God define the season. He knows the reason and purpose.
Remember, this relationship is intentional -- to spur you along to follow Jesus.
We are never all "discipled-up". None of us has arrived on this discipleship journey.
You are God's disciple wearing to please Him and we all have areas to grow.
