Notes from this week's podcast: Throw Them a Lifeline

Apr 24, 2025

This week's podcast starts from the account of Jesus walking on the sea and calling Peter to Him, which is found in Matthew 14:22-33.

Here, Peter started walking on "the Word." He responded to what had been breathed out over him. When he took his eyes off the Word (Jesus), he began to sink.

We have to believe that Jesus is who He says He is, no matter what we are in the midst of. The Word will rescue us. Let the Word hold us up.

The people that I'm praying for -- their greatest need is Jesus. May Jesus be seen by these individuals for a true transformational encounter.

* Throw a lifeline to them

> Those that are drowning: Pray the Word -- that they will come to Jesus, they'll see their need for Jesus

> Those that are drifting: Pray the Word -- that they'll grab hold, come up, and walk on the water/ the Word

The lifeline is the Word that reached them in their desperation.

Step One: Pray the specific Word. Speak it out, like a lifeline.

Step Two: Pray they will grab hold of the lifeline, that God will deliver them.

Step Three: Pray Jesus will come to them (just as He came to the disciples in the boat)

Step Four: Pray they'll realize that they can't save themselves.

Step Five: Praise God.

We are praying and believing that the Word is reaching them, rescuing them, and delivering them from destruction and bringing them into the presence of a holy God.

Be faithful to throw out the lifeline -- the Word of God through prayer.

Be steadfast and determined in your prayers believing by faith (don't take your eyes off Jesus), they're coming into the King of God. God is bringing in His inheritance.

 Scripture for your prayers: 1 Corinthians 15:7, Psalm 43:3-4, Psalm 107:20, Isaiah 58:9, Luke 11:28, Psalm 44:3, Psalm 18:19
