Notes from this week's podcast: Will You Say The Blessing This Christmas?

Dec 16, 2025

Who will way the blessing at your house this year?

Will you willingly search out people during this Christmas season and you speak words of life, value -- that you speak to the heart of another person -- that they know they are worthy, have purpose.

I want to focus on the blessings that came forth -- how we can continue those blessings, how we can be a blessing to other people around us and recognize our ability to give a blessing

The Format of a Blessing

Take the Word of God and by faith, based on the authority of God's Word, you speak something into the heart of another person that gives them life, and value.

* "She brought forth" that means life.

What she did brought life. It was done in a very humbling way.

When we speak blessings, it gives life -- spoken from a humbled heart -- submit to God what He would want that person to know, so that God gets the glory and they are lifted up, encouraged.

* "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace goodwill toward men."

Not that all men would have peace, but that God had come to have peace with man. And what did they do? They began praising God.

The first sign the birth of Jesus was a blessing/to bring life: God is being praised. They are praising God for what He has done. The Savior of the world has been born.

A way to bless someone else is to begin to praise God for them. It's not because you like them or what they do but because they are life that was created by God, made by God for a very specific purpose. You can praise God for them. Praise God that you know them -- part of your family or friends.

* Simeon picked up the child and blessed God.

He picked up the child, touched the child and spoke the Word of God over the child. He spoke truth about this child, although it had not been manifested yet. "This child is the Savior."

It was a blessing to those around him. Mary and Joseph "marveled at the things that were spoken."

When you speak words of life that speak value, purpose to the heart of another person, it has such an impact on others it can cause them to marvel because you're not speaking to their head, you are speaking to their heart, and it's a message to them -- that they are important, there is a future, a hope, purpose - the Word of God says there is purpose for them.

Simeon spoke on the authority -- on God the Holy Spirit had spoken to Him.

We see people through the eyes of God, the way God sees them, because God sees them as worthy of His love, accepted in the beloved. They have something to contribute and it is good. It is God's desire that they prosper and they be in good health.

The wise men had gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Gold symbolized kingship. Frankincense symbolized that you/this life is a sweet aroma. Myrrh symbolized healing from suffering and pain. These gifts are the next blessing we see: Mary and Joseph were blessed by these physical resources. They moved from not having a very valuable sacrifice to having resources to live. These gifts came after the spoken blessings, just at the right time -- time to flee to Egypt.

Christmas is coming. Who will say the blessing at your house?

The birth of Christ brought life (He blessed us with peace.)

We, too, can be a blessing this Christmas, if we will purpose to bring life into the environment.

We want to take the Word of God and speak it and bring other people value.

Pray now: God, You know the people I will be with this Christmas season. You know what You would want to speak to the heart of them, if You were here. + Touch that person when you speak.

Based on God's Word, everyone that God wants you to speak a blessing to, to bring a gift of words that will speak to someone's heart and that it would truly let them know who they are in Christ so that you can bless God."
