Notes from this week's podcast: Pursuing My Ways or God's Best for Me

Apr 01, 2025

God showed me that I was pursuing my own thoughts - my own ways - something that I could easily do in the flesh. And it might have been good, but it was not God's best use for me and what He created me to do at that moment.

Note: I loved God at that moment. I would've done whatever God told me to do, but I had begun to commingle what I thought was good (and justified it to pursue it) rather than waiting on God to order my steps.

My fleshly ambitions had taken over and I needed to surrender it. And I did. And what came out was a greater message, ministry and impact.

In my surrender, I didn't know what God wanted to do next, but I just pursued God.

This life is about becoming His vessel -- becoming is a process that God does through our life, through our experiences.

The goodness and graciousness of God stopped me to expose what it really was and put me on the right path.

There's always a preparation in the purpose. Remember Esther. She had to prepare herself for her purpose and not get ahead of God.

Our relationship with God begins with salvation, moves to surrendering your life to God and an act of submission, walking every day humbly with Him. When we've submitted our will to God, our motive is truly about God.

In Bible study, is your pursuit of getting more information and knowledge so that God can do something for you?

Bible study should take us to a place where we know God and it's an intimacy with God -- to obey Him, to worship Him with our life, to make God's name great.

My prayer is that (1) you will find what God has for you in the moment and that's what you will make a matter of prayer; (2) you found you and it would get you past  you, that your life would become all about God.

There is always a reason for the wait. I needed to wait on God -- to teach me to hear His voice, to teach me that the flesh is vain. And I saw the faithfulness of God. I could've spent more time with God.

As you walk through life, walk with God, trust God everyday, just live life. Then you'll be ready to do what God wants or directs.

God is sufficient. He doesn't really need us to help Him. But He delights to use us.

Enjoy life. Enjoy the things that God is doing for you. Enjoy the surroundings that God has afforded you.

Are you bringing someone along with you -- growing together over one godly principle at a time? Are you willing?

Tips: (A) You can use the podcast.  (B) Go to God's Word. (C) Memorize God's Word together.
