Notes from this week's podcast: Dr. Judi Jehle Joins Jo - Introducing Noon Bible Study, October 2025

Sep 23, 2025

Jo: "Lord, what do you require of me?"

Judi: "Lord, I'm just too busy right now to talk to you about that. I'm fine doing what I'm doing." God to Judi: "Look, there's a different direction we're gonna go. And, just trust Me in this. You're gonna take care of people, just not in a medical office."

Jo: God takes us through seasons of life. You didn't just see to their health needs, you helped them with their heart needs -- ministering to their hearts. In that season, you were still pursuing God. You were faithful to God.

* Know the season that you're in -- And the season that you're in, don't try to be in another season. Be there with God.

Judi: I was in a drought. There came a time: There's really not any joy or excitement in what I'm doing. But I know that's what I'm supposed to do, so I'm gonna do it. ... I don't want to ever get out of the Word of God. I want people to know what I've been taught and how I got to where I am.

Jo: We get tossed. We look for the quick fixes. Yet, The Book is right in front of us, and we just need someone to come alongside of us and to help direct us. Sometimes, we don't know what we don't know.

Judi: We're called to be disciples. What does that look like? I want other people to know what I know -- the peace and joy that I experience/what I've been taught.

Jo: When God shows you what He requires of you, just do it.

Judi: It's important to understand where we're going -- what's our mission. What does God require of us? Where are we trying to go? How do we get there? How do we go against the obstacles that are in the way of Christian living? What does Christian living look like? It looks like the character of God. What is the character of God? If you don't know God, you don't know what His character is. You don't know that His love is steadfast. You don't know His mercy and His grace ... We have the capacity to reflect His character. But, we have to know what His character is. ... Wouldn't the world be a better place if we had mercy on others? Love for others?

Jo: We're looking at the world and we miss the Word.

Judi: Ultimately, our eternal goal is to see the face of God. God still sees us. If you knew that God sees every action, every word you say, would it make a difference in the way you live?

Jo: Ask yourself: Am I desperate for God? How desperate am I?

God's giving us an opportunity to get right. And, this is the season to focus on God -- Help me get my heart right.
