What is a prayer request? It's us asking God for help.
Know that God is the God who sees -- He's everywhere. He is the sovereign God. There is nothing too hard for Him.
How do we bring this into our faith, into asking God for help and showing the glory of God in the midst of it?
God is our Helper. Apart from His help, we cannot walk this sanctified life sufficiently.
We might even ask: When am I going to see an answer? (Refer to the book of Habakkuk.)
Step 1: In your specific need, ask God for help. Ask God first. (Be specific to trace the hand of God.)
When we ask God, we allow Him to speak to us, to give us the Scripture to pray -- how He wants to move and be our Helper. Listen for Him to speak to you. It will take patience. Lean in.
Step 2: Trust God for that word. Believe that God is your Helper and believe God as you pray that word back to Him. Trust God for that next step.
* Before you pick up the phone to call a friend to agree with you
Step 3: Keep your heart in obedience. Do not let worry take over. No "what ifs" Be steadfast. It's a continuation of listening in to God. He'll tell you the next step (probably not the end result that we are so anxious for).
* In our prayer requests, in our needs, He is teaching us to walk with Him, to linger with Him, to release our situations to Him -- how to truly trust Him.
Step 4: God alone is able to help and establish the plan of action, the next step. We don't have to think out the plan. That is what will exhaust us.
When we fret, we're not trusting.
God is trying to show us He is sanctifying us in this prayer request.
Note: Healing in the Word isn't only physical, but to restore spiritually, emotionally/mentally, and physically. Healing starts in the spirit man.
Remember: God is our Peacemaker.
(A) Be obedient. (B) Maybe it's your time not to be silent (as addressed last week)
Conclusion: God is the God who sees. He sees exactly the help you need. Run to the Helper and trust Him in everything.
